Hello! I'm a lifelong educator with a passion for helping learners of all ages become proficient in reading!Qualifications include: MA in Reading Education, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and Reading & Literacy Leadership Specialist CredentialI use an instructional approach called Structured Linguistic Literacy ("Speech to Print") and am a certified EBLI tutor. I chose this program because it is a very effective, integrative, and evidence-based way to support all learners, especially those who have difficulties with reading. I am also trained in ThinkSRSD, an instructional framework that guides students into becoming organized, confident, and effective writers. I work with students to strengthen their assessed areas of need, including phonemic awareness, decoding and encoding skills, vocabulary, reading fluency, language components, morphological awareness, writing skills, and reading comprehension. Students feel successful during each session, resulting in increased self-confidence, motivation, and engagement.I celebrate learners of all ethnicities, genders, religions, backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences. I believe every student brings unique strengths and am dedicated to fostering belonging, equity, and literacy proficiency for every learner. My tutoring services are nondenominational and inclusive to all.
